Once upon a time . . . back in the 1920 & 30's . . . HOBBIES worked with Bowman Models, who sold a series of Live Steam model Engines, Railway Locos and Steam Boats made at our Dereham Site. HOBBIES ARROW reaches back to that Golden Age and remakes a classic, indeed out of Bowman comes the ARROW.This simple-to-build design faithfully captures the excitement of live steam pond boating, yet now with radio control to steering and even limited speed control by restriction to the live steam supply-line.This boat could just as easily be built as a static bookshelf display piece with a mocked up engine & boiler, or even electric powered. It has received many admiring comments, at its boating lake trials. This model comes as Plan P255, Fittings F255 & Wood Pack W255, to take our Steam plant SE/P, & Radio gear RC1 & RCXL. In addition to the basic parts, the recommended running gear is:- PSU/4, BPB40R & RAU1 Size : 24" (610mm) hull with a Beam of 4 1/2" (115mm)
